Sandra Bullock – Bambi Awards (german speech)

Posted on

This is a rare clip of Sandra Bullock winning an award in germany and her speech is all in fluent, very good german. very interesting and cool.:)For Translation read ahead! Edit The speech: Gosh, I'm so nervous cause over there on the floor lies my speech (she didn't got that right though, instead of "Rede" [speech] she used "Sprache" [language]). Okay, we live in such glorious times, cause I used to be a waitress, I was a cleaning lady, then I was a disco dancer, then I was a dog's coiffeur...who would have thought that all those jobs would lead me up to this stage some day? But this is the best proof for an audience which is so tolerant these days that even people like me have a chance. My mother always told me „Be original, Sandra" and it made me totally crazy as a child. But now I understand it, cause my mother was ahead of her time. And thank god she put that across to me before she left into a different world herself. So thanks. Thanks to...(and then a lot of names of her family I suppose. Uncles, aunts...probably a niece, cause she threw a "go to bed now" after one name.) Thanks enemy10585 and everybody else who translated it! ;)

  7. @juicypop303 dann wirklich etwas sagen

  8. @sjiyuey i dooo(:

  9. LOL i understand it ’cause my language -dutch- sounds like german but wait lol it’s weird.

  10. She sounds like a native German speaker whose first language has become a bit rusty, probably because she has lived in the States for so long.
There are a few mistakes in the translation above. “….der beste Beweis dafür, dass das Publikum so tolerant ist…” should be “best evidence THAT the public is so tolerant these days that even people…” and NOBODY would say “left into a different world herself”. A better translation would be that her mother “passed away” or “departed this life”.

  11. @ThisIsHendrix lol go on

  12. Hat jemand kein Deutsch ((does anyone else no german))

  13. She comes back part of her root speaking German. I love Sandra Bullock, such a talented, intelligence, funny, amazing and beautiful woman, also she has a huge and good heart to donate money in different occasions for the poor! So grateful that she has started dating her co-star Keanu Reeves after 17 years’ friendship recently, awesome!

  14. @johnmalory26 You mean completey westernised? Every citizen of America is a citizen, and there really is no such thing as a “native” American, unless you are talking about the original pioneers, or Native Americans.

  15. Weird to see her speaking another language besides english

  16. All I understood was “hund” which I know means “dog” o_o

  17. wooooow i didn’t know she speakes THAT good

  18. @buggerwho12
Actually i meant celebrities, because a lot of them are from Europe or half 1 European parent (like her)
Even Asians celebrities most of them were born outside U.S or have Asian Parents, they are not like citizen.

  19. @johnmalory26 Me. I’m Asian.

But I think you meant white Americans. I’d like to point out after several generations living in the U.S., people identify as American culturally. Unless it’s English, I doubt few Americans of European descent speak the language of their ancestors anymore.

  20. @buggerwho12
Who isn’t part European in U.S

  21. @tim035 OK, Whatever

  22. @mrtruongdeptrai
Cool online translator, idiot. That word order is nonsensical.

  23. Wow, sie ist einfach so symphatisch und kann richtig gut deutsch!!
Wow, she is just so likable and her german is really good!!

  24. Ich liebe Sie ueber alles ! ! !

  25. She’s part German on her mother’s side.
